Looks like my swollenpickles.com site copped a page rank smack. I'm showing 0's in the little green bar. I think I angered Google. Looks like it's time for a sacrifice. Any one else noticed a change?

That's totally shady of Google to drop your PR. You have one of the most original blogs out there and I can't see any reason why they'd zero it.

Well, wait a few weeks because AffiliateBestPrograms blog got zeroed from PR4 last update and mysteriously in a few weeks it was brought back up to PR3. I've seen several other established bloggers saying the same thing.

This last update was totally screwed.  Almost every site I own lost internal PR except for two sites and 80% of my sites lost PR on their primary page. Can't say I'm very happy with this update.

Thanks Dave.

I find the whole page rank thing confusing. The main problem is with consistency. It's hard to tell what will cause them to penalise you and what wont. For example, I have another blog that I basically just whore out doing paid posts etc, it's how I pay my web bills. In any case, if anything was going to get penalised, I would have thought it would, but no, it got through another one unscathed, while swollenpickles, which is well above board in comparison cops a smack. Totally bizarre.

I have a couple of blogs whose page rank changed recently. My main one, which I update often, was PR4, and went down to PR 3. I have another one, which I update only occasionally (and which I have done a few sponsored reviews on) went up from PR 2 to PR 3.

Weird ...

I'm seeing a very strange trend with Google PR over the last few years. It starts with a site or blog quickly getting pushed to PR3 or PR4, then the PR drops a point or two six months to a year later and then it goes back up again butnever as far as that initial push.

Personally, I'm not alarmed by any PR drops I may have experienced recently. In fact, my SERPs have gone through the roof even though I had PR drops on this forum and on my Affiliate Best Programs blog.

While it's disappointing to see the little green bar go down, SERPs are the only thing I really care about.

I've all but given up on pagerank at this point. It's just too much of a frustration to bother with.
