I find a very good article on not making mistakes as a blogger

Personal Hack  » Blog Archive   » Top 7 Mistakes to Avoid as A Blogger

my big mistake is #7

Constantly Checking Blog Stats. Ive noticed that this is a big time waster for me. When I first started blogging I would even check my blog’s number of visitors multiple times in a single day. I now realize that this is just a waste of time. I now try to only check my blog traffic and performance statistics once or twice a week.

Actually, checking your stats is imperative if you're making money from your blog. I check like clockwork after publishing a new article to see if it's brining me any traffic and where it's coming from so I can optimize for future posts.

I agree with you Dave. I think those tips are for a different sort of blogger. I check mine constantly to see what my readers like to comment on/get more involved in.
