I'm not much of an SEO guy, so I'm not saying this to brag, but I just noticed that both of my main websites are #1 on Live.com for the main keywords I targeted.
My site is #1 for the search term s even though there aren't many pages on it (because there are multiple videos on each page), there isn't much content updated (and if there is, it's just a single page of multiple videos), and not a large number of inbound links.
Apparently Live.com weights keywords in the domain name really, really high. (I'm not complaining, but... it seems kind of stupid, actually)
My other site has keywords in the Title, and I just noticed today that it's #1 for that search term on Live.com -It's a fairly competitive search term...
There are other blogs using the term in the title that have more more inbound links than my site and that post a lot, so other than using the words in my posts, I don't know any particular reason why I'm listed first.
So there you have it, my one-two punch "secret" to conquer Live.com... Register a domain name with your keywords, and repeat your search term often.
Is Live.com just more random than Google in choosing its listings? I don't really know, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. |
