Search engine marketing, or SEM, is a form of Internet marketing that seeks to promote websites by increasing their visibility in search engine result pages (SERPs). According to the Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization, SEM methods include: search engine optimization (or SEO), paid placement, and paid inclusion.

From what I understand, SEM is using PPC search to drive traffic at a landing page that advertises something you're selling or your an affiliate of. Jeremy Shoemaker from shoemoney.com has a lot of good articles about how he made lots of money doing SEM.
For me, it seems to complicated and expensive to get into prperly. |

I wasn't thinking that SEO was part of SEM ???
I thought SEM was using PPC like adwords to drive traffic to make conversions on an affiliate product like a Clickbank e-book.  |
