I was looking in my CJ account and saw they have a feature called Smart Zones. I was wondering if somebody could explain to me the benefit of using a Smart Zone and what it does for me?
A Smart Zone allows you to rotate different CJ ads in the same spot. Think of it as having rotating banners that change every time another user requests a page. It's a pretty cool feature but the only drawback is most CJ publishers have multiple sites in different niches and not all ad programs you're enrolled in would be applicable for a certain zone.
I've been testing "Smart Zones" on one site and I'm about to add them here but again the drawback is say you want a zone of 728x90 banners, you have to assume the advertisers you already have a relationship with will have a banner to fill that spot which isn't always the case.
The other issue I have with "Smart Zones" is I tend to add a "nofollow" tag to my CJ ads but using a "Smart Zone" you don't have that ability. IMHO, it's much easier just to setup a banner rotation script to emulate the same functionality.
