I'm actively pruning the list and will be adding comments, the blogs PR and other little details. A lot of the blogger and blogspot blogs listed aren't real "do follow" blogs, so commenting on a blog that's hosted by Google is useless because the blogger can't even control whether links are "nofollow" or "dofollow". So for anybody using this list at the moment, if you hit a blogger or blogspot blog, don't waste your time.

also, check the blog's pagerank. Some of these blogs are "sandboxed" and a "bad neighborhood" because they were using their blog to sell links or to do only "sponsored posts" and they got busted. You don't want to put your links on a sick blog and have the illness spread to your site.

I have my 2nd blog on blogspot .. and whenever I get comments from people (not many so far since it's still pretty new) I click on their names, go to their blog, and leave comments myself.  One I have even added to my blogroll since it fits in a bit with what I do (animal related) ...

So I wouldn't say it's a complete waste of time ...

I also use BlogCatalog and MyBlogLog ...

I may move to my own domain (like I did with dolphinswink) but for now, it serves my purposes, is easy for a tech-challenged person like myself to use, and it's free ..

Why not use Wordpress free blog services instead. It makes it so much easier if you decide to move onto your own domain.

#1 - you get to learn the in's and out's of the wordpress software
#2 - you can easily export to any Wordpress install
#3 - Wordpress free hosted accounts seem to get pagerank and hits quicker than blogger or blogspot
#4 - Blogger and Blogspot are so full of spam and shit blogs, it makes you look bad

I personally click out of any blog I ever see hosted on Blogger or Blogspot, you know, it's just like when you search Google and see those  "sponsored links", after a while, like Pavlov's Dogs, it's a conditioned reflex to react to something that you can pinpoint 99% of the time is flaky.

I'm not saying all Blogger or Blogspot blogs suck, but in all of my blogs spam filters, I deny comments from anybody using a link to a Blogspot or Blogger blog and I cut down on spam by 70%

Check this article here....

Blog Comment Spammers Exploit Google’s Blogspot

-----------------------------------------

I'm going to be cleaning up this list and removing all the blogger and blogspot blogs since Google has recently gone like Myspace and WikiPedia and added "nofollow" tags to all outgoing links. Sorry, but if a webmaster wants to link to somebody legitimately and the software adds a "nofollow" tag without their knowledge, that's pretty shady practices.

I can guarantee you'll see several new blog platforms arising in the coming months to compensate for the bloggers who will be migrating once they realize Google is once again "Doing Evil".   4-king

Why should they? It's a free bloggin platform. If somebody can't pony up the money to spend $10 for a domian registration and $5-$20 per month to host their blog on a real hosting account, then why the hell should anything they publish be taken seriously in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I love blogs, but I've been a webmaster since 1992 when you paid $35-$50 for a domian registration, paid $50 per month for hosting and there was no Adsense, AdBrite, Bidvertiser, PayPerPost, etc... As far as I'm concerned, I wish the internet would go back to that way because it's pretty lame when you look at BlogRateDirectory (for example) and these content-less photo blogs with sexy celeb pictures get 100x the hits that a blog somebody spends hours per day writing original posts.
