I'm want to use e-junkie to promote a few products but I mostly promote on forums. In ever e-junkie hoplink there's a target="xxxxxxx" attribute and I wanted to know if it's absolutely necessary for proper credit on affiliate transactions ?

You don't need the target in your link. Just the hoplink.

For my opinion, e-junkie sucks and I wouldn't waste my time promoting any products they offer. The tracking is horrible and most of the stuff doesn't work anyway.

Have you ever tried using E-Junkie?

First of all, E-Junkie does not "offer" products, but are primarily a shopping cart solution where Merchants can sell their products.  You can also setup an affiliate program and list your products to help with promotion.

E-Junkie also integrates with Google Analytics and other tracking tools.

What part of E-Junkie's service doesn't work?  I would think that if the service didn't work as it's supposed to, there wouldn't be as much positive feedback as there is out there.

I've never heard of E-Junkie but I'm afraid I don't understand the concept.

You say it's a shopping cart for digital products and a marketplace but how is it that merchants setup affiliate programs?

Is it a direct one->one sale?

Do orders get processed and tracked by E-Junkie?

Who makes the payouts to affiliates ?

I looked at the site e-junkie.com and it looks nice but it is very confusing  huh

E-Junkie is, primarily, a shopping cart solution.  It provides shopping cart buttons that you can add to your website and/or any other page where you can paste HTML code (i.e. Facebook, blogs)... payments go through a payment processor such as PayPal, Google Checkout, and Authorize.net.  E-Junkie also securely delivers digital goods.

As far as affiliates go, E-Junkie tracks affiliate based purchases (and all purchases for that matter) and the Merchant is responsible for paying the Affiliate.

I want to refrain from sounding sales pitchy but I'm afraid I've already crossed the line!  grin

No worries about pitching a service or product. This forum isn't so uptight like other ones.

So then... the merchant is responsible for paying an affiliate but E-Junkie actually does the fufillment of the digital goods ?

Have there ever been any problems with merchants not paying affiliates and does E-Junkie set a payment schedule for merchants or do they set their own?

I do see you have some nice products like Revolution blog theme in the marketplace.

That's right.... when someone buys a digital product, E-Junkie sends them a "Thank You" email which will include a link to download the product (if it's a digital product, of course).  The links that are sent can be configured by the Merchants to expire after a certain amount of time has elapsed, or amount of download attempts have been reached.

I haven't heard personally of any problems with Merchants paying their affiliates... but it is solely the Merchant's responsibility (as E-Junkie doesn't accept any payment for Merchants goods or services - only the flat monthly fee to host their products).

The Merchant decides what percentage they would like to give affiliates, and they can also make exceptions for specific affiliates who they would like to give more of a percentage to.  E-Junkie keeps track of affiliate sales... and provides a mass payment file at the end of each month that can be used to make a mass payment via paypal.

I personally think that there is a ton of neat stuff E-Junkie's merchants have to offer :)

StefaniE,

I'm not sure if I properly welcomed you to the forum but welcome to C4G and thanks for answering members questions regarding E-Junkie.

I will be adding two new sub-folders in the affiliate programs section (one for MarketLeverage and another for ClickBooth). I usually add them in groups of threes, so I was thinking of adding a dedicated folder for E-Junkie as we have you as a rep here on the forum.

I think it would be a good promotion for E-Junkie as well as add another dimension to the affiliate section here. I'm very impressed with E-Junkie and it seems quite a few reputable merchants are marketing through E-Junkie (Brian Garderner being one).

What do you think ?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your welcome, it is much appreciated.

I'm not sure if adding company based subfolders in the affiliate program would make sense.... do you get enough questions that are that specialized?   Of course I couldn't oppose extra promotion for E-Junkie!  Wink

Another thing I'm not sure of is whether E-Junkie would belong specifically in an "Affiliate Program" section, because although they have a great Affiliate Program, it certainly isn't the primary function.  E-Junkie's primary function is being a hosted shopping cart.  grin
