Did you ever see an unhappy horse? Did you ever see bird that had the blues? One reason why birds and horses are not unhappy is because they are not trying to impress other birds and horses.
Please Review the following: Does the home page sufficiently convince people to go further into the site?

I think the homepage is confusing with too many advertisments on it. Plus, one of the ads or something on the page is beeping and it made me think my smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector was going off in my house.
The design is nice but it's not immediately clear to the visitor what the site is about because there is no mission statement or an about page. I knew in advance because you made a description above but for somebody visiting the page cold ,you should have some sort of text on the landing page to say what the site is about.
Please know that I am not a webmaster or website designer but I am a web surfer so my comments come from the perspective of an ordinary visitor.

I like the simplicity and compactness of the design and the "Find information you need" statement that clarifies what the site is about... the only thing i didn't like was the pop-up that appeared when i clicked on the select language combo box... I think it is appealing and makes me want to surf more.
