Attractive, and effective, design of your website ensures low bounce rate of your website, as it would encourage more users to stay on your website..

If people liked your design, they would share it on their social network, resulting in more website traffic..

if your website design is both attractive, and slick (containing less graphics and animations), it would improve its loading speed, resulting in more traffic...

Web Design plays a large role in your traffic. One very important aspect of web design is the ability to navigate the site. I find myself more drawn to sites that I can easily navigate. The rest is basically up to preference.

One thing I might say is that you do not want to make your site look too busy. Also, the quality of the text plays a part as well. If your site looks like you put a lot of effort into it, then you will attract visitors.

maybe its 3/10 for web design
and 10/10 for seo :)
seo is more important for traffic.

Design doesn't makes your traffic rise but it helps you to get regular visitors and low bounce rate nobody likes o visit a website which has been badly designed, people like easy navigation and colors that are nice to eyes.!
