I've been looking for more way to monetize my blogs and I wanted to try BuySellAds but they rejected my blogs based on Alexa ranking.
My question is, do Alexa ranking really matter?
Of course, Alexa ranking is based on the Alexa toolbar and sites in the webmaster or technollogy niche are more likely to have a lot of visitors with the toolbar installed.
I'm sure most of my blog readers don't use Alexa toolbar but for example, my technology blog gets half the visitors as my cooking blog but my Alexa ranking on the tech blog is much better than the cooking blog ????
So really, does Alexa ranking really matter? |

| I think it does. A popular website getting a lot of traffic is going to have a higher Alexa ranking than an obscure site that gets very little traffic. I think the Alexa ranking is reflective of that. |

| Even if Alexa doesn't affect your website directly, if you were to ever sell it, the buyer is going to want know what the Alexa rank is. If it is crap then you might not get the sale. Its the same thing with PageRank, its over rated but highly valued at the same time, even if its only one of the hundreds of factors of Google's algorithm. |
