OK, at the risk of sounding quite ignorant, I ask this question:

Does all the clicking that people do on your splash page and/or website help your rankings for say google?
Also, I just read on anothers post that the clicking campaings are only good for a month or so and you do not get a much interest as many have seen your page already. Is this true?

Hi Lorna,

No, traffic exchanges don't have any effect on your Google rankings, in fact, they can get your Google Adsense account banned.

thats the main reason why people don't use adsense much....bidvertiser is an option if you don't want to use adsense while exchanging traffic

Bidvertiser is correct. It is like AdSense but not from Google...
