Twitter is getting bigger and bigger each day but out of the millions of accounts signed up, a significant amount have to be people with multiple accounts. As far as I know, there's nothing wrong with having multiple Twitter accounts as long as you're not using them to spam people.

I started out with one account but I quickly realized my interests cross into multiple areas and it seemed easier to create multiple Twitter accounts. After all, if I'm tweeting about "affiliate marketing" to people I'm following because of my interest in motorcycles, it might turn some followers off.

Also, a lot of us run multiple sites, blogs, forums, etc that usually can't be managed with one central Twitter account. I create a Twitter account for most of my popular sites and it has been working well to help network with people interested in my sites.

I currently have at least 10 Twitter accounts. How many do you have ?

I don't have any yet, it's next on my list to join Twitter! I thought you're only aloud one.I'll learn more once I join...and maybe I will have several.

You can have as many Twitter accounts as you want. Maybe in the future they may change it but for now I know most people have business and personal accounts.

i really don't see the point of twitter!
i dont particularly want to know the status of my friends at all times of the day haha

Most people create lots of account with different usernames, well, that's their preference. Some account, they use it for personal use and the other account is for their business.

Me, I have one account on twitter same username that I used in forums.

I have four active ones and one dormant one I haven't done anything with. One is about social media marketing, one is about politics, one is about volunteerism and the other one is about fishing. The fishing and social media ones drive traffic to my two blogs. I also tweet affiliate links to each of them and have gotten some decent hit and a couple sales. I see having many Twitter profiles the same as having many websites. Each one is a niche and is attracting a targeted audience.
