There is an ingenious way that you can use the Facebook News Feed feature to promote your site / brand in a highly hyper-viral way. I've basically blogged about this.

The technique involves using a COMBINATION (this is the key) of the Facebook News Feed AND other Facebook Features (like Apps, Groups, Events etc). This cant be done with only the News Feed. You need to combine the 2 things. For those unaware, the News Feed on Facebook is the first thing and most prominent thing that users see when the login to Facebook.

Please dont publicize this trick too much or it will be over abused.

The question is : do you really think you are going to get high quality traffic with a low bounce rate doing this ???

I have learned the hard way - Repeat visitors are what you are looking for as an internet marketer

Got to agree, its the repeat visitors that count on SB for me at least. I'm always open to suggestions on marketing on Facebook though, it's such a tempting proposition for a website owner. Thanks for the information, it's appreciated.

Wow.
I've heard lots of viral marketing techniques, but I gotta tell you, this one takes the cake.
Pretty interesting what can be done with a social networking site. They've got to be the epitome of social experiments.
