Facebook is the top social network as of now.  What makes it so popular is the many things you can do on it.  Their is new gadgets or a new social thing to see and do all the time.  It's hard to get bored on Facebook unless your bored at social networking, that's usually a tired sensation.

Having read previous posts, it is refreshing to see that not everyone has gone completely mad. I agree that these so-called tools are attractive only to those stuck in the high-school mentality… or, more likely, still in high-school. I don’t have a MySpace or Facebook account, rarely read blogs (this one was just too tempting), certainly won’t Twitter and have never owned a cell phone… yet I’ve never felt like something was missing. Then again, I’m a person who values privacy and it seems, these days, I am greatly outnumbered.

I have an account with facebook but i am also not very fond of it. I just did it for the sake of having another way to communicate with friends and other people i know online. Atleast if i lose their contact numbers i can still send them message on facebook.
