Basically for our home page we had dropped from page 9 to page 11 for the main niche keyword search "fly fishing" in google. We had used an SEO program to help get us there from page 45. We added a box of keyword rich text in the lower header and that had helped. It had helped so much so that we put it back and added the same text in the top header instead. Well we got crawled today. We had expected to move up because our program suggested we were optimized to 99%.

No such luck, we dropped to page 59. So, What happened?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Try searching the name of your site in google. If your site is not rank 1 then you are penalize. I think that box of keyword rich text is the main problem. You might be seen by google as a keyword stuffer. Google hate it.

I agree, that keyword box might have kicked you down the ladder.

Google doesn't like automated softwares to drive traffic to sites. Try submitting a re inclusion request using Google Webmaster Tools if you're sure you've been penalized for wrong reasons.
