Yes, andrew you are right but make sure that they should be do follow with high PR.

I've never expected people to click through to my site from a comment I made on a blog. I comment on blogs and particularly those with high PR for SEO. I want my site to move up in search engines based on keywords. That's where you'll get your traffic eventually, from people searching.

It does work...if you can find do follow blogs that will actually accept your comments. I know that you have to make a good comment that is relevant to the actual blog post, shows you actually read it, and gives some good feedback - but it is still hard to get a comment accepted from a do follow blog with your anchor text as a link in the comment.

I saw on a forum few months ago how some seoers got a website to rank on page 1 only with forums posts and blog comments, I am quite upset I cannot find the link right now but when I have it I will share with you.
