1. create a good content 2. submit your to rss site such as feedburner, technorati, etc 3. make a link by make comment in dofollow blog. 4. dont forget to submit in social bookmar network such as digg, stubmleupon, etc. 5. made a site with your target keyword in anchor link to your domain in comment and sig such as this forums.

most important: use it for the same purpose as before. i mean keep same type of content. otherwise u will loose directory backlinks. google will find that there is new owner using the site for new purpose. they monitor it & will drop ur pagerank. if its a blog keep it as a blog, if its a directory keep it as a directory  |

| keep quality contents and quality links. its keeps ranks easily. other wise link your site with whos already in higher rank. |

| I am in the same situation. Bought a PR 4 domain and now I'm working hard to make sure the site won't lose its page rank. yeah, quality content and backlinks help a lot. |
