Wow, one of the greatest groups ever. Even though in high school and middle school I was into Ozzy, Motley Crue and Iron Maiden (heavy metal), I always hung out with girls who would force me to listen to Duran Duran and drag me (against my will) to their concerts and all I have to say is that they were definitely on of the best bands of that era.

They also brought in the video era with elaborate MTV productions which I resented them for, but 20 years later, I'm still listening to their music...

Duran Duran has an X-Rated music video for Girls On Film. That version was never shown on MTV, but it had women. Yeah, butt naked if you like to call it.

that's what made them famous when I was in middle school, plus that rumour that the sounds of the girl moaning in "Hungry Like the Wolf" was a recorded from a real girl in their tour van...

I was hooked on MTV when I was introduced to  Duran duran. i couldn't watch the hungry Like the wolf video enough times. i think that duran duran gave MTV the jumpstart to their popularity. i still enjoy duran duran. they will always be one band i love to listen to watch perform. new moon on monday and union of the snake and the reflex are three big reasons for their musical success.
