I just purchased a .co domain today. It's an exact match keyword domain and all the other TLD's have been taken for a long time. I spoke with a tech support guy at GoDaddy who said these domains have been very popular and I've seen the commercials for Overstock using o.co as their domain.
I will be trying to rank it over the coming months and I read somewhere that Google will treat .co domains as if they are a top level domain like .com, .net and .org
My question is, has anybody worked with a .co domain and got it ranked well in Google ?
It really doesn't matter at all even if the domain is a second level domain name. All that matters is the way you optimize and promote your website for better search engine rankings. There are many different second level domains that actually rank at 1 position for different keywords in Google search engines.
