So what exactly is domain forwarding?? If I buy a domain somewhere and then host my site somewhere else, is the user just..."forwarded" to my host??
Would forwarding be a bad thing for search engines and what not??

When you forward your domain it just means pointing it to your server location. How your server reponds to it is a differnt story.

You can forward as many domains as you want to one location.

Think of it this way

You have a phone book with names in it (domain names) and you can make each, any or all go to the same phone number which is the IP address.
