Obviously, C4G is using SMF. This thread is for discussion of all things related to SMF. At C4G we are writing SMF mods to make this forum a better experience, and we have no problem sharing the mods we're writing... Or this thread is a good place to post SMF mods that are applicable to moneymaking forums, etc...
The first mods we are writing are
PTP MOD - Paid to Post Mod Edit Signature - A much needed mod to SMF to allow members to edit a signature with BBCode much like the edit in making a post. Warning MOD - Allows forum owners and moderators to issue warnings and ban offenders.
As far as customizing a SMF forum, if anybody wants our smiley package, post here and I'll send you the package and instructions on how to install it if you link back to this thread.
- Other things I'd like to use this thread to discuss is general SMF coding and security issues, techniques, and patches, updates, etc...

Here is a really good link for admins running SMF board. You can find many modifications that are quite easy to install....

There are a lot of tips and tricks to customize your SMF forum.
Anybody looking for the "subtitles" modification used here at C4G, I'll be posting that on this thread this weekend. It's very easy to add to your forum if you can edit PHP and Mysql. |

Notice my newest little SMF modification, the little "country flags" by a users detail on a thread. We integrated "IP2Location" database we'd purchased into this site to put a little flag based on the members ip address.
We also just purchased and installed Cpanel/Whm software and Macromedia FCS server onto our "hosting" server, and are almost ready to go with our hosting company. If anybody is interested in hosting an SMF forum with us, we'll be charging $15 per month, plus a one time $35 installation fee, and we will install the same, fully modded forum as C4G is running. |

I'm working on converting a few of the forum modifications to easily installable SMF mods. I have a few other forums I run that I'm converting from PHPBB to SMF, so it would be beneficial to me to package them.
btw, glad you like the logo !! |
