May we never let the things we can't have, or don't have, or shouldn't have, spoil our enjoyment of the things we do have and can have. As we value our happiness let us not forget it, for one of the greatest lessons in life is learning to be happy without the things we cannot or should not have.

I want to be able to edit my MySQL databases but I can't because phpMyAdmin is going way to slow.

It takes 10 minutes just to load the databases page.

It takes a further 20 minutes to get into the table I want.

Has anyone else had the same problem and why it is going slow?

are there any alternates to use ?

You should really avoid phpMyAdmin at all costs if you're doing intensive database work. I personally use PremiumSoft Navicat to work with my databases. It's a non-browser (application) based Windows client that allows you to work with MySQL servers just like you would with MS SQL Server Enterprise Manager or Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Of course if you're going to have to allow for remote connections from your MySQL because phpMyAdmin uses localhost.
