I have some 9-14% interest rate private student loans that I wanted to consolidate. Is it pretty much impossible to consolidate student loans in this economy?

Hi pookytx,

You are right, it is difficult to consolidate private loans. First, check with the lenders who own your loans. Some have consolidation programs. Then there are a few listed at the bottom of Eligible Consolidation Loans that do private consolidations, though I'm not sure they will beat the rates you currently have.

Good luck,

Ken
