Hi,

Mambo was recommended after posting on another web site desgin tech support forum. Have run into many roadblocks trying to find the right web site tool for what I want to do.

The website will have a large database of books, where registered users will be able to log in and manage their own library and also have a wish list hopefully. Each book will also be linked to a different website, where users can purchase books.

I have Yahoo hosting, it supports mysql, php and phpmyadmin. I have been told by several people that what I need is a CMS. Was also told maybe Microsoft SQL server might be helpful or Php Nuke.

At the moment I am still searching for a web site building tool, that will support php pages and since Dreamweaver is not cheap was looking for other programs to do this. Will Mambo fit that role as well, not really sure how Mambo works? Guess I have alot of questions, sorry for so many!!

Any help would be appreciated

just stumbled across your post on the forums... I once used mambo for my personal website and SPIP (which is a complete CMS, not a blogging system) for the website of the company I work for.

I would strongly recommend a caching system in the next version of Mambo - to be honest, it was one of the two key factors leading me to choose SPIP for my work website, the second factor being the long discussed issue of XHTML standards.
