I saw this feature on some VBulletin forums where a blogger could add their RSS feed in their profile and when they post, a link to their most recent blog post is shown in their profile information. Here's a pic of the new feature I coded into the forum here today.

To enable it, all you have to do is go into your profile, and click "Forum Profile Information", you'll see the new fields for you to enter your RSS feed.

You can submit your feedburner feed, RSS 2.0 and any RSS compatible feed. To find your blogs feed, go to your blog, right click on the page and select "View Page Source" in Firefox or "View Source" in Internet Explorer and look for something that looks like this in the beginning of your page
Those are your RSS feeds for your blog so you want to select one of the feed urls to add into your profile. After you enter the correct url you should see a confirmation like this...

If you see the error then you entered an invalid link that isn't an RSS feed. If your feed is validated, just click the "Change Profile" button and you'll have your most recent blog post inyor posting profile !!
I've also added two more profile fields, one for your Squidoo Lens if you have one and one for your Skype contact info. If you noticed I also added a lot of little graphics on the profile editing page to make things look a little nicer.

I'm glad you like it, hopefully more of the bloggers here on C4G will utilize this new addition. Oh, I forgot to mention, the script updates your most recent blog post every time you login to the forum. If you are already logged in and have posted a new blog post and want to update there is a little trick.
Go into your Profile and click in the "Blog RSS Feed" field and click out to make it reset your blog data to your newest post, otherwise you'd have to logout of C4G forums and log back in. |

| Dave and his team are always working to make C4G a better forum. All you have to do is follow the rules and be productive and post with quality over quantity and you'll be rewarded. This forum has the best, most intelligent mods an it's family. not some crapy faceless forum like MMG or Talkgold. |
