In my experience, there is only one motivation, and that is desire. No reasons or principle contain it or stand against it.

This is ridiculous. If I search on an item and there aren't any hits, I want to know that. I don't want the software randomly removing or changing the spelling until something comes up. What a crock!!! Does someone at Ebay really think that they can increase sales by randomly showing me things I wasn't looking for??? If I'm searching for a specific brand and/or part number for something that's all I want to see.

Just LEAVE IT ALONE!

There is a lot of frustration with eBay searches.  At the time the new search was introduced there was a way to opt out and use the traditional search. I don't know if that option still exists but it is worth a shot to ask.  Hopefully eBay hears the frustration of the masses and gives the people what they want on this one.
