In my experience, there is only one motivation, and that is desire. No reasons or principle contain it or stand against it.

Bidvertiser is one of the best alternatives to Adsense but I personally think Adbrite is better for my applications. I was banned by Adsense about a month ago and they re-instated me but all my earnings from before the banning were lost. So, I'm only using 10% Adsense on my sites right now. I use about 10-15% Bidvertiser, about 20% Adbrite butmy favorite two affiliate programs are Ads-Click and ADSDAQ (ADSDAQ pays CPM, meaning by impressions, not by clicks).

Adsense and Bidvertiser are both running very smoothly for me still.

Adsense is quite a lot more successful. Could be that the Google banner is on my home page and Bidvertiser is one next to an article. Plus, the Google banner has a bit more aesthetic appeal for some reason, just looks more professional.
