I've been testing the Amazon API for the last year and have to admin that so far the results have been rather dismal. Amazon seems to have tracking problems and doesn't give more "in depth" statistics that any affiliate (associate) would need to further analyze performance issues. I didn't put the Amazon code on any of my high performance sites, and I have a solution to generate content rich pages surrounds the products offered, but I'm weighing in the time to figureout if it's going to be worth it to me to continue with Amazon.

Has anybody else been an amazon "associate" ?

Dave, have you tried out their promotional coupons and feeds in the past year? If the result is equally dismal, then i think it would be quite hard for us to make money on this.

i don't think there is any problem as many sites are doing that.

Yes you can,  adsense TOS allows you to put affiliate programs.  I think the only thing you can't do is have other contextual ads or ads that look like adsense ads.

I joined Amazon as an associate a few weeks ago and so far I have had 11 clicks but no conversions.  It's a little depressing, but too early to tell.  I only have it on one website, but planning to put on other sites that promote specific products, so maybe I'll have better luck.  But so far it doesn't look promising.
