The Amazon API (Applications Programming Interface) allows webmasters to generate unique affiliate links
that are formatted to the programmer/designers website flow. To use the Amazon API requires a knowledge
of Perl or Java and basic database query. The API allows you to search Amazons database and retrieve complete
information about a product including price, description, reviews, image, and anything else Amazon stores about
a particular product. Once retrieved, the data can be  seamlessly integrated into a website's content.

If you look at the Code4Gold Book's Page (http://www.code4gold.com/books.php), you will see a working example
of data that was pulled from Amazon's product database and was formatted to fit the flow of C4G site. In order
to facilitate the development of the books page, we had to code a Perl script that searches Amazon using the API,
and returns the data we needed. The result is a professional looking book selling page.

Amazon API works well with content rich websites, or websites that are primarily concentrated on subject matter
that books, music, dvds would interest the visitor. The possibilities are endless if you give a little thought.

If anybody is interested in trying out the perl script, please reply via this thread.

Funny, that page has not seemed to be an earner. I've done a lot better with that type of page before, but I guess people are really coming to this site for the info you can't buy in books from Amazon.
