I'm not sure if it was the holidays or my new sites but Amazon has been converting like crazy for me recently. I'm actually making $15-$25 per day recently and as I keep adding more product pages to the sites I've optimized for Amazon, it seems I'm making more and more. I fell into a little secret when helping a client create his site recently and it led me into a new strategy for using Amazon.
If you're going to use Amazon to monetize a site, it's best to work in reverse order... Instead of creating a site, adding content and then trying to monetize it, you have to create a site for a *specific* product niche. As an example... Here's a Wordpress blog optimized for Amazon (also uses Chitika and Adsense)...
The site is based on a specific product, cellphones and ringtones. It has catchy graphics and the layout is in a blog format with each post geared for a specific product. The thing to remember is that Amazon allows you to use their copy data in any way you want with their affiliate program. In this case, worrying about duplicate content, etc is pointless, alll you have to do is use the provided content and drive hits to the site and it will pay for itself. |

That's the trick. Keep adding more content every day (or as often as you can). Make sure to keep creating new pages on your site that are specific to the product (a final landing page).
Don't just create pages or blog posts for spam purpose but if you keep a good 2:5 ratio on a blog (2 posts out of 5 that are a ptich). Also, reserve your "pitches". Do a bit of homework and find the most lucrative things to promote because if you're using "Ghetto Makerting" (ie: posting on forums and blogs but can't afford to buy links or ads) - If you're using "Ghetto Marketing", you need to have respect and gain trust but when, as a salesperson, you make a pitch, you have to know it's something that in you're heart that you believe in. |
