Interestingly, the Wall Street Journal has been doing some "investigationing" and has found that some very well known networks may be amongst those that will experience severe pressure in the coming year - including some of the longest established networks, like ValueClick and Burst Media, who survived the first dot-com bust.

In short, they reported that JellyCloud (formerly Gator) and AdZilla has already died. AdBrite remains unprofitable and recently shed 40% of its workforce. Burst Media and Collective Media are both apparently seeking buyers at the moment and stalwarts ValueClick are expected to see revenue losses in the 08 and 09 calendar years, according to analysts.

Could it be that some of the mighty players will fall, or will be snapped up by one of the giants. If they are snapped up, do you see it becoming more difficult for smaller, indie publishers to gain representation?
