Are you a webmaster, blogger or forum owner and tired of spammers from Russia, China, India and other countries that comprise the bulk of hacking and spamming ?
Here's the one of the simplest (and completely free) solutions that will allow you to create access lists in CIDR, Subnet Mask, .htaccess deny, .htaccess allow, IP Range, Decimal/CIDR*, Hex/CIDR* and Binary/CIDR*
http://www.countryipblocks.net
Here at Code4Gold forums we were receiving hundreds of phony signups per day with fake email addresses which was causing the signup confirmation emails to bounce back to us. When I checked the IP's of the phony signups, I saw 99% of them were coming from three countries : Russia, China and India. It was the same scenario with my blogs. 99% of the automated comment spam was originating in India and 100% of the porn spam was coming from Russia. Evidently there are companies in these countries who offer SEO services which comprise of automating the spamming of blog comments and spamming forums. using the site I mentioned above you can generate fresh IP lists and block them all.
After a few days of using these access lists, the number of phony forum signups has been reduced to almost zero.

Thanks for the link. I'm so sick of spam from India on my blog and it's all the same automatic junk but every time I add a new filter they find some new way to work around it.
I know I need to block India because there is no reason for me to do business with people over there anyway. I wonder if there is a way to do this and keep the list updated on a regular basis so if IP's change, I can easily keep up to date..
How often do you think IP block would change and might it be possible to block people you don't mean to? |
