Response to Network Marketing Leads:

That's very interesting that the Rich Dad company would start a seminar that way. Your're right, it's obviously not good business.

Having experienced both Rich Dad education as well as Nouveau Riche education, I can say the most likely reason is fear of loss of customers. Kiyosaki's Rich Dad education is now essentially just a rebranding of Russ Whitney's Wealth Intelligence Academy. By that I mean Whitney needed to repackage his failing WIA education so he partnered with Kiyosaki and brokered a deal to market WIA under the Rich Dad brand.

I'm not certain how much Rich Dad education is still Kiyosaki versus WIA, but the WIA name is also still used, however it is only used in pairing with Rich Dad.

However, regardless of who or what company is truly behind the Rich Dad/WIA education, it is truly inferior. As I said, I have paid for and experienced first hand Rich Dad, Nouveau Riche and a few other versions of real estate education. I can tell you there truly is no comparison.

Rich Dad is not completely horrible, but for what is charged it does fail to deliver.

I also participated in a 5 day seminar that was called "M5" run by the guru James Smith a few years ago...and their hearts seemed to be in the right place. The problem was the method of delivery for the education was extremely flawed. It was just simply guru after guru providing a lot of information while pitching his product or service. I didn't feel like it was a total pressure sales function, and after talking with the gurus at their company tables (where they gave out brochures and things) it seemed they offered legitimate and useful services. However that was not the reason I attended the seminar.

There was just no way those individuals were equipped to instruct in the disciplines they were supposed to be "teaching" and even if they were, the format of the seminar did not allow it. Each person got about an hour, and then someone else was brought up to talk about a completely different topic. It was like that for 5 days. This is the makeup of the majority of systems available for this type of education. This is why so many fail to have positive results and even positive responses.

In my opinion Nouveau Riche is actually UNDERpriced for the value received. The education is exemplary and the affiliated people from the company employees to the practitioner instructors to the community of students are all of the utmost caliber. I'm not sure I've ever seen a better collection of individuals. The education is not only of the utmost quality, it is delivered in a most effective way. I graduated as one of the top 10 of my high school class, after which I attended a four-year university and obtained a bachelor's of business administration in finance from a top 5 ranked business school.

The method of information delivery at the Nouveau Riche college in many ways outshines that of any typical learning institution. Of course the physical setup is the same, with the instructor at the front of the room utilizing powerpoint slides as well as an overhead projector for hand written examples. However the content is structured in such a way that is much more comprehensive and "absorb-able" than that of the vast majority of my university courses.

I believe this is due to the courses at Nouveau Riche being written and designed in large part by the instructors themselves (with the help of professional curriculum designers). As not only experts but actual practitioners in their respective fields, Nouveau Riche instructors seem to be able to offer insight and knowledge that no typical teacher or professor could.

To be sure, my professors in business school were also experts in their fields, and the majority of them did have real world experience in the financial and business sectors in which they were instructing. However there was a large handicap in class, as many of them insisted on following not only a textbook structure, but an actual textbook for the class lecture and assignments and case studies/projects. I believe this was quite a hindrance to the learning experience and actually limited the retention as well as the applicability of many of the things we studied. (This is not to mention the entire curriculum of my full tenure was geared toward prepping us to outshine graduates from other schools so as to land the executive level job at a large corporation...not at all the focus for the type of education we are discussing here.)

Nouveau Riche education outshines so many because its delivery and execution is among the best of any institution, accredited or otherwise...but aside from that, above all else it is because the actual content focus is so valuable: business, financial literacy and investing. Real estate is a major component of the investing arena simply for the the vast benefits it offers that no other investment can.

It is all but guaranteed that one will never become wealthy without owning a business and/or investing. The wealthiest, do both. Every single person on the Forbes list of 400 wealthiest Americans is a business owner and an investor. However there is no traditional institution that provides education in this area. As a top 5 business school graduate I can attest that in a typical university investing is covered minimally at best, and the majority of focus is in the stock market realm. Business ownership is ignored completely. The goal of business school is not to own a business. One does not need a degree for this. One needs a degree to be hired as an employee of a Fortune 500 company. This is what my alma mater equipped me to do.

Nouveau Riche equips individuals to become business owners and investors, and does so in the most professional and effective fashion.

I like Nouveau Riche, although I am not a member. I've liked their product and their approach to long term wealth with real estate.

My comment though is why does the Robert Kiyosaki seminars have such a rough time with NR? I attended a Kiyosaki seminar a few months back and before they ever started that had to ask if anyone was a part of NR and if so, they should either keep quiet or leave.

I don't know if they felt threatened or that their terriorty was in danger, but it started off the seminar on a nice big negative note.

I appreciate Robert Kiyosaki and am a strong supporter, but there are better ways to approach this than to call out a particular group. It was a bit ridiculous.

Just wondering the history on this.

I agree - it seems like when the economy gets bad, a lot of important but unnecessary things, like quality education programs, get cut. Hopefully, we'll recover from this recession and be able to start putting money into school program again. Education is important if we ever want to have a hopeful future.

Great information, our school had a program like this as well. hopefully the economy can get back into shape so schools can have room for all types of coaching for students willing to try new sports and clubs!

Real estate is one of those markets where you really need to know the market before purchasing, as well as understand the basic concepts of real estate investing. As the poster above me said, once the housing market hits bottom, there will be money to made... but how do we know when we've hit the bottom, or even when we're close?

Well, we had a similar personal coaching program a few years ago in our university. I agree, it is very effective.
