I have to admit I’m a bit confused because the Safe Ports Act involves the transfer of funds between a gambling site an a Financial Institution and I wasn’t aware that E-Gold was operating as a Financial Institution, and the whole premise of E-Gold is that you are not transferring actual money but grams of gold.

As a result of the Safe Ports Act and the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 contained in the Safe Ports Act, the facilitation of many forms of Internet gambling by persons located in the United States has become a proscribed activity.
