Many members of autosurf website 13PercentSurf (http://www.13percentsurf.com) were shocked going into this holiday weekend when 13PercentSurf admin Darrell unloaded this bombshell
| Please Post in any forum you are a member of. Hello 13 percent members. Hope your weekend is going well. I wanted to give you a quick update on the status of 13percent surf. We are re-working the site now, and should be up very soon. As many of you know we were hacked, and lost control of the server. We only just did get our database back online. So we are reviewing things and working hard to get the site back up. There will be some new changes made when we get the site up, to help protect against this problem that we have faced. I would like to thank all of the members that have supported us during this time. It means alot to me, and I do appreciate it. For those of you that may not think that we will be coming back, please refrain from the remarks that have been being made. All this will do, is damage the program even further, for those people that are waiting patiently for 13percent to come back. You have every right in the world to go elsewhere, but please dont try to destroy something that others want and need to have back. This truly has been an unfortunuate time for everyone involved with 13percent. It has caused much stress and turmoil in many peoples lives, and that is not what I had envisioned happening when I started 13percent. But together we will get 13percent back up and running, we will get through this time, and we will survive it nicely, and will once again be the best surf site on the net. Thanks again for your continued patience and support. Have a great Easter everyone. Talk to you on Monday. Darrell. |
Well, most of the weekend, everybody on the popular forums has been holding their breath hoping that 13PercentSurf would return. A little investigating on 13PercentSurf’s DNS shows something’s going on …
the old ip was 70.87.89.2 - now dig sez
13percentsurf.com. 7020 IN A 66.180.173.32
13percentsurf.com. 7020 IN A 216.98.141.250
reverse dig of IP Addresses turns up this for the Pointer records…
32.173.180.66.in-addr.arpa. 900 IN PTR ded232-deb-173-32.netsonic.net.
32.173.180.66.in-addr.arpa. 900 IN PTR zoneedit.com.
250.141.98.216.in-addr.arpa. 43200 IN PTR wf3.dnsvr.com.
the authorities over these records is
141.98.216.in-addr.arpa. 43200 IN NS ns3.aspadmin.com.
173.180.66.in-addr.arpa. 900 IN NS ns1.netsonic.net.
check the older record of aspadmin.com - the site is gone, meaning the hosting company has went under. http://netsonic.net/ is new hosting company, check site, it’s dedicated and colocation services.
Looking at these records, I’d safely say, they are possibly moving onto a new dedicated server, which, in my experience, never goes smoothly. The admins would not be able to email the member base because of lack of access to the databases, and If they are working on getting the server back up, I’m certain they have their hands full. At this point, it’s imperative to give a little more time, because there is activity. Hopefully 13PercentSurf will return and make all it’s members happy.
